Arts and Humanities Commission
Alma Dolores Xibille officially became a member of the Arts and Humanities Commission of Cochise County on Thursday October 8, 2009. The purpose of the commission is to advise City Council on art in public places, foster the city as a strong supporter of cultural activities for the community and develop short and long term plans relating to arts and humanities activities and facilities in the community.
Dance Center Wins 2009 Arizona Success Award
The Arizona Small Business Development Center honored the Alma Dolores International Dance Center with the 2009 Success Award on March 25, 2009. Alma was presented with her award by Mignonne Hollis of the SBDC at the Arizona State Capitol Building in Phoenix, Arizona. The ceremony was a beautiful luncheon with guest speaker, Arizona Secretary of State, Ken Bennett.

Dance Center Wins Prestigious Mayor’s Award
The Alma Dolores International Dance Center received the 2009 award for the outstanding Sierra Vista arts organization at the 15th Annual Mayor’s Arts & Humanities Awards. Alma was presented her award by Tanja Biami of the city’s Arts and Humanities Commission on Jan 20th 2009 at the Cochise College Library Commons. The ceremonies were kicked off by special performances by some of Alma’s students. They performed Polynesian, Jazz, and Mexican Folklorico dances.
