REVISED: July 28, 2009
Welcome to the Alma Dolores International Dance Centre new student! Please make sure you read the Studio Information & Policies sheet entirely and inquire about any information that is unclear. By signing the Registration form you are stating that you understand and agree to abide by the information and policies listed below.
REGISTRATION FEE:
A registration fee is required with the registration form to reserve class space. Registration is not considered complete and class space is not reserved until the registration fee has been paid. The registration fee will be paid upon new registration or upon re-entering classes after a four month break or longer.
TUITION:
Tuition will remain the same whether it is a long (5-week) or short (3-week) month. Regardless of absences, there will be no proration or refund for classes missed. Tuition can be paid in advance, but is due by the 10th of each month. A $5.00 late payment fee will be applied to payments received after the 10th and up until the 20th of the month. A $10.00 late payment fee will be applied to payments received after the 20th of the month and into the following month.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
You have the option of bringing your payments directly to the studio or mailing your payments to 3811 S. Hwy 92, Sierra Vista, AZ 85650. If you make a payment at the studio you can pay using check, cash or credit card. If you mail your payment to the studio it must be in the form of a check or money order. Payments mailed to the studio are still subject to the tuition policy.
UNIFORMS:
Uniforms are required for all classes. You should receive a list of uniform requirements with your registration form. Students’ hair must be neatly tied back and secured for class.
ADDING/DROPPING CLASSES:
If you wish to add or drop a class, you are required to speak with the Office Manager before you attend or discontinue attendance in a class. We need to approve any changes to the students schedule for record updating purposes and to verify if we are accepting new students in that particular class.
RECITALS:
The dance center holds three recitals a year. Our annual recital is usually held during the first week of June. Our Holiday recital is usually held in December close to winter break. The summer recital is usually held at the beginning of August. You must let us know during registration if you or your child do not intend on participating in the approaching recital. If we are not otherwise informed during registration, we will assume that the new student will be participating in the next performance and all fees associated with the recital will apply to the student.
RECITAL/COSTUME FEES:
There are two separate fees associated with each recital and all students participating in the recital must pay both fees in full.
Recital Fee: In return you get tickets that you can sell or pass out to family and/or friends and 2 parent tickets to give to your parents/guardians.
- $75.00 for one student 10 Regular Tickets – 2 Parent/Guardian Tickets
- $85.00 for two students (same family) 12 Regular Tickets – 2 Parent/Guardian Tickets

The recital fee can be paid in advance or in installments, but must be paid in full one month prior to the recital.
Costume Fee: The costume fee can be a rental fee or a purchase fee depending on whether the instructor has decided to rent costumes or buy new costumes for the recital. The student is responsible for paying a costume fee for each class they take.
Rental Fees: $6.00-$25.00 for each costume rented
Purchase Fees: For each costume purchased
- Child Sizes – $70.00 (S, M , L)
- Adult Sizes – $80.00 (S, M, L)

PRIVATE LESSONS:
Private lessons are available at an extra charge of $25 per half-hour or $45 per hour. Private lessons must be paid to the instructor at the time of the lesson in the form of cash or a check made out to the instructor. You can utilize private lessons for learning a routine for a competition or pageant, for extra technique help or extra help if classes have been missed for valid reasons, etc. Most dance routines require five to six lessons to learn. There is limited enrollment for private lessons and each private lesson must be coordinated.
ATTENDANCE:
Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. The studio cannot jeopardize the progress of the entire class for one student. Please make every effort to have your child or yourself at every class. Attendance will be taken during each class. If you or your child will not be attending a class, it is your responsibility to call the studio and advise the Office Manager of your tardiness each time you will miss class. There will be no reimbursement or proration for classes missed.
PARENTS AND VISITORS IN THE CLASSROOM:
Classrooms are for students and staff only. Students focus better and learn more when they’re not distracted. Given the layout of our classrooms, this will also keep traffic at to a minimum; limiting distractions. Parent observation days will be announced at least one week prior to the observation date.
CHILD SAFETY:
The Alma Dolores International Dance Centre is not a licensed childcare facility and is only responsible for dance instruction in the classrooms. Children not in class are the parents’ responsibility. We will do all we can to ensure their safety while in the classroom, but parents should pick their children up on time and instruct children to wait inside the building until picked up.
HOLIDAYS:
The studio closes for various holidays. There will be no proration to tuition for the days the studio is closed. We will inform students by posting notices around the facility when the studio will be closed for an up-coming holiday. Students are expected to attend class otherwise.
COMPETITION TEAMS:
An audition is required for selection into a competition team. Students will only be placed on a competition team if they exhibit the necessary skill and effort. Once being selected for a competition team, the student must sign a contract obligating them to attend each competitive event the studio participates in. A team is never just one person. The failure of one person to attend a competition event adversely impacts the remaining team members and requires numerous additional hours to re-choreograph and rehearse a dance routine.
