ATTENDANCE:
There will be no reimbursement or proration for classes missed. Your tuition secures your spot in the class you are attending. If you leave for 1 month or longer without paying tuition, we reserve the right to give your spot to a new student.
Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. The studio cannot jeopardize the progress of the entire class for one student. Please make every effort to be at each class. If you will be absent from a class or decide to discontinue lessons with the studio, you must call the studio and advise the Office Manager.
UNIFORMS:
**Uniform items must be purchased from the studio dance wear shop**
Uniforms required for all classes. If you attend class without your uniform, your instructor will remind you once that you need to wear your complete uniform. Each time you attend class without your uniform after receiving the initial reminder, your instructor will not allow you to participate in class for that session. There will be no refund or proration for classes missed due to not following the uniform policy. A uniform requirements list has been provided with your registration form.
ADVANCED STUDENTS:
Students that have taken 3 or more years of dance and are enrolling in Lyrical, Jazz, and Modern, Irish, Tap, and Broadway are required to also take one of our ballet classes. The Ballet requirement is essential to the growth of your skills as a dancer due to its focus on form, strength, and precision.
ADDING/DROPPING CLASSES:
If you wish to add or drop a class, you are required to speak with the Office Manager before you attend or discontinue attending a class. All schedule changes need to be requested by submitting a Schedule Change Request Form in the studio office.
RECITALS:
The dance center holds two recitals per year. Our spring recital is usually held during the first week of June and our holiday recital is usually held in December close to winter break. You must advise us during registration if you do not intend on participating in the approaching recital. If we are not informed, we will assume that the new student will be participating and all fees associated with the recital will apply to the student.
• Students who are not returning for classes after the December recital must pay their December Tuition in full.
• Students who are not returning for classes after the June recital must pay their June Tuition in full.
We encourage all of our students to continue their lessons year-round to avoid regression in their dance studies.
RECITAL FEES:
There are two separate fees associated with each recital and all students participating in the recital must pay both fees in full.
(1st) Recital Fee: In return, you get tickets that you can sell or pass out to family and friends. All students must pay the recital fee regardless if they want the tickets or not. The recital fee covers the auditorium rental, staffing, props, program and ticket printing, and advertising.

You can utilize private lessons for advanced learning, routine preparation for an upcoming event or for extra help if classes have been missed, etc. Most dance routines require five to six lessons to learn. There is limited enrollment for private lessons and each private lesson must be coordinated.
PARENTS AND VISITORS IN THE CLASSROOM:
Classrooms are for students and staff only. Students focus better and learn more when they’re not distracted. Given the layout of our classrooms, this will also keep traffic at to a minimum; limiting distractions. Parent observation days will be announced at least one week prior to the observation date.
CHILD SAFETY:
The Alma Dolores International Dance Centre is not a licensed childcare facility and is only responsible for dance instruction in the classrooms. Children not in class are the parents’ responsibility. We will do all we can to ensure their safety while in the classroom, but parents should pick their children up on time and instruct children to wait inside the building until picked up.
HOLIDAYS & STUDIO BREAKS:
The studio closes for various holidays and for 1 week following recitals. Many hours go into the production of a show, so rehearsals and recitals are considered special classes. There will be no proration to tuition for the days the studio is closed. We will inform students by posting notices around the facility when the studio will be closed for an up-coming holiday or event. Students are expected to resume class once the studio is open.
INSURANCE:
The Alma Dolores International Dance Centre does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if any injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHS:
The Alma Dolores International Dance Centre reserves the right to use any photographs taken of you, your children or students in the studio or at any studio event in any form of media or advertisement it chooses. These forms of media or advertisement include, but are not limited to, website galleries, newspaper advertisements, and studio photograph albums. By registering with the Alma Dolores International Dance Centre you are providing permission for photographs or videos to be used in various advertisements. The photographs and videos will be decent and in good taste.
FOOD AND DRINKS:
Food is not allowed inside the classrooms. Drinks should have a spill proof top.
